The Goddess project invites you to create your own divine being to use as a personal symbol that can help you on life’s journey.
If you could imagine a Goddess, spirit, ancestor, saint or magical entity to help you on your healing journey, with a life experience you are struggling with or with something you need more of in your life. What would they look like and what would they represent? Could the act of creating them serve as a therapeutic ritual that helps you work through the emotion, memory or experience they represent?
The Goddess project asks you to become part of a collective making experience. Creating deeply personal healing images that could go on to aid the healing journey of others.
In the Goddess Project workshops you will be invited to use clay, paper, collage, paint, poetry or storytelling to make your creation – Give your being a name and add a short description of their story or meaning. Take your creation home with you to use in your everyday healing ritual or practice.
If you would like to be a further part of the project, I will photograph your work so it can become part of a later exhibiton of all the collected ‘Goddess Project’ artworks. At a later date selected work from the ‘Goddess Project’ will be used to create a therapeutic art deck to help pass on the healing work done in the project to others, so your card could be used to help someone else on their recovery journey.
In the event your artwork becomes part of a therapeutic art deck any profits from the use of your image will go to local women’s charities working with domestic violence, sexual exploitation or homelessness.
